SPREP Corporate Plan 2001-2005

The Secretariat has served the region well since SPREP became
an autonomous regional body following the entry into force of the Agreement Establishing SPREP in 1995. It has played a pivotal role in raising awareness in all its Pacific island members of the importance of responsible management of the environment and natural resources to the future livelihood and prosperity of their people. The Secretariat has facilitated cooperation among SPREP members to deal with environment issues. It has also assisted Pacific island members to put their concerns on the agenda of the various international for a dealing with the environment and sustainable development.
