A high-resolution bathymetric mapping survey was conducted for the seabed surrounding the island of Efate in Vanuatu. The bathymetry chart contained here is the second part of the overall bathymetry chart produced for Efate Island in Vanuatu. This bathymetric map is a blend of multibeam (MBES), and singlebeam (SBES) echosounder data. All slope angles exceeding 60 degrees (degrees from horizontal) were interpreted as scarps. Any Inclined area of the seafloor that was laterally confined by distinctive slopes, with or without an upslope headscarp, was interpreted as a channel.

This record holds the PDF format of the bathymetry chart of Forari Bay in Efate, Vanuatu. The chart shows the 3-dimensional bathymetry map of Forari Bay showing shallow to deep from red to blue. Two times vertical exaggeration. Chart is the result of high-resolution bathymetric mapping survey of the seabed surrounding Forari Bay in Vanuatu using a blend of multibeam (MBES), and singlebeam (SBES) echosounder data.

This report describes a high-resolution bathymetric mapping survey of the seabed surrounding the island of Efate in Vanuatu, by the Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission
(SOPAC). The survey was carried out over a period of 25
days in August 2003, resulting in the acquisition of over 600 line kilometres of MBES data.
The resultant compilation was used to produce
bathymetry charts of Efate at scales of 1 : 100 000 and 1 : 50 000, with more detailed charts of
Mele Bay, Forari Bay and Havannah Bay at 1 : 20 000.

The South Pacific Applied Geoscience Commission, SOPAC, carried out a marine survey for Samoa around the island of Savai'i and Upolu. The Bathymetric map of Samoa shows the chart bounds as blue boxes. The wave and current regime at three main locations mainly in the passage between the two islands (Apolima Strait) was also investigated.
