The Digital Atlas of Micronesia is the foremost source of maps and geospatial information for the Federated States of Micronesia. People searching for any sort of geospatial information can come to this web-based Atlas to identify, visualize, query, analyze, and acquire datasets relevant to their interests. At the core of the Atlas are web-enabled GIS and searchable database that allow users to view and manipulate hundreds of layers of geospatial information.

Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme

Dataset with direct internet link and resources pertaining to AquaMaps. It is an online tool for generating model based, large scale predictions of natural occurrences of species. For marine species, the model uses estimates of environmental preferences with respect to depth, water temperature, salinity, primary productivity, and association with sea ice or coastal areas.

The Mapping Ocean Wealth data viewer is a live online resource for sharing understanding of the value of marine and coastal ecosystems to people. It includes global maps, regionally-specific studies, reference data, and a number of “apps” providing key data analytics. Maps and apps can be opened according to key themes or geographies. The navigator the left of the maps enables you to add or remove any additional map layers as you explore. Information keys explain how the maps were made and provide additional links. Further information and resources can be found on Oceanwealth.org

Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme

Open dataset of boundaries and regulations that apply to marine protected areas (MPAs) and fishery management areas in U.S. and international marine waters.

The UN Biodiversity Lab is an online platform that allows policymakers and other partners to access global data layers, upload and manipulate their own datasets, and query multiple datasets to provide key information on the Aichi Biodiversity Targets and nature-based Sustainable Development Goals.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

Physical geography, biological, bathymetry, geomorphology, oceanography, uses, risks spatial data for Solomon Islands marine environment.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

Map developed by MACBIO for the bioregions workshop (Feb 2018). The Global Human Impact of Marine Ecosystems Project distributed national total catch values form FAO data into 1 km^2 cells using a spatial model to show intensity of artisanal fishing.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

Map developed by MACBIO for the bioregions workshop 2018. Chlorophyl-a concentration is an important proxy which is routinely measured and is considered a "core" parameter of global physical-biological oceanic models.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

This map was developed by MACBIO as resource for the bioregions workshop 2017 and shows ocean surface currents based on data from NOAA Ocean Surface Current Analysis (http://www.oscar,noaa.gov/).

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

The map shows paths and intensities of tropical cyclones in Solomon Islands EEZ from 1980 to 2015.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

The map shows the diffuse attenuation coefficient per metre of depth (2002-present). This is an indicator of turbidity in the water column. The map was developed by MACBIO as resource for the bioregions workshop in Feb 2018.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

A map that shows domestic shipping routes within Solomon Islands EEZ.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

A map of Solomon Islands EEZ showing location and magnitude of historic earthquakes from 1900 to 2008. The map was created as resource for the MACBIO bioregions workshop in Feb 2018.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

A map showing the frontal index in Solomon Islands EEZ. The map was created by MACBIO as resource for the bioregions workshop in Feb 2018. Data is based on CSIRO Atlas of regional seas (CARS).
A front is a boundary between two distinct water masses that move in different directions.

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

This map was created by MACBIO as resource for the bioregions workshop in Feb 2018. The map represents the number of times a front has been detected in Sea Surface Temperature. Data is based on Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS).

Solomon Islands Ministry of Environment,  Climate Change,  Disaster Management and Meteorology

Maps showing geomorphic features. The maps were developed by MACBIO as resources for the bioregions workshops in Feb 2018.
