The Cooperative Study on the Deepsea Mineral Resources in Selected Offshore Areas of the SOPAC Region, 1993, Sea Area of Papua New Guinea .On the basis of the previous survey results, three seamounts, MS01, MS11, and MS12 were selected and drilling by BMS (deep sea boring system) was conducted to understand the occurrence of cobalt crust. Environmental survey was carried out to make clear the environmental characteristics of the area. The area was selected in accordance with the joint study program for deepsea

This record holds, GIS layers that contains poly-lines and point features that represent the maritime boundaries of Papua New guinea. This includes a gazetted polyline representing the 200 nautical mile Exclusive Economic Zone over which Papua New Guinea has sovereign rights, for the purposes of exploring and exploiting, conserving and managing the natural resources of the seabed, subsoil and superjacent waters. The layers represent the archipelagic straight baselines and base points for the country's maritime zone.

This record holds, GIS layers that contains poly-lines and point features representing the maritime boundaries of Solomon Islands. The 5 sets of basepoints, represent the 5 different sets of basepoints around the 5 different archipelago of the Solomon Islands. This includes a gazetted polyline representing the 200 nautical mile Exclusive Economic Zone over which Vanuatu has sovereign rights, for the purposes of exploring and exploiting, conserving and managing the natural resources of the seabed, subsoil and superjacent waters.

High-resolution swath mapping, using multibeam echo sounder was used to delineate the seabed morphology around Vanimo.
The wave and current regime inside Vanimo harbour was also instigated by deploying acoustic Doppler current meters profilers
The resultant data was used to produce bathymetry charts and the Vanimo Bathymetry chart is available for download from its appropriate link under Distribution Info.

The Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission, SOPAC, carried out a marine survey for Papua New Guinea around, Madang, Sissano and Vanimo.
This report describes the high-resolution bathymetric mapping survey carried out over a period
of three weeks from 28 May to 15 June 2006, resulting in the acquisition of over 733 line-km of
MBES data. The survey achieved variable coverage of 50–100% (less for shallow water areas)
of the seafloor from approximately 50 m in the inshore area to an average offshore distance of 4
