Vanuatu National Geospatial Data Policy 2020 - 2030

The policy creates a foreseeable pathway towards achieving a more coordinated and collaborative management system for consolidated geospatial data in Vanuatu. The national geospatial data committee has progressively provided input into this policy and has made efforts to ensure that all relevant stakeholders and partners are involved in the implementation of this policy.

Centralizing and managing access to geospatial data at the national level will develop and enhance national capacity to utilize geospatial data for decision making at all levels of society. This is an ambitious policy, considering the environment surrounding information sharing at the national level. However, the national geospatial data committee in collaboration with relevant government and private sector stakeholders is committed to implementing this policy and engaging in reviews when necessary.
