Solar Cooking Demonstration Workshop in Kiribati : The use of solar energy in everyday cooking at a domestic level and in replacing the conventional ways of cooking using firewood in an open fire or on kerosene stoves was demonstrated via this project. SOPAC and the Ferris University (of Japan) implemented the activities in collaboration with the Energy Planning Unit in Kiribati.

Disruptions in fuel supply and high supply cost for fuel have triggered interest to develop local coconut resources and other renewable energies.
