The International Organization for Migration (IOM) was engaged by the Government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) to lead community engagements on the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) in eight Atolls. The engagement team was comprised of IOM staff and three Non Governmental Organization partners; Jo-Jikum focusing on youth, Women United Together Marshall Islands (WUTMI) focusing on women and inclusion, Marshall Islands Conservation Society (MICS) focusing on livelihoods.
The National Environment Service worked closely with family representatives of the Takitumu Conservation Area, to submit an assessment application that will gave the TCA official international recognition as an Other Effective area-based Conservation Measure (OECM).

The TCA was launched as the Cook Islands' first OECM on International Biodiversity Day 2024 (22 May 2024)
The Code of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) was amended to include the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), to increase the size of its Territorial Sea and to be inclusive of the current political status of FSM and other purpose as it deem fit (16 December 1988)
Chapter 1 of Title 18 of the Code of the Federated States of Micronesia, as amended by Public Law No. 19-172 on April 28, 2017 established a Contiguous Zone, comprising those areas of the sea that are beyond and adjacent to the Territorial Sea. The inner boundary of the contiguous zone is the seaward boundary of the Territorial Sea. The outer boundary of the Contiguous Zone is a line, every point of which is not more than 24 M seaward of the nearest point of the baseline as defined in section 101 of this title.
The NNC published a Research Protocol and Media Ethics as a guideline for researchers and journalists who are interested in learning more about the Marshall Islands Nuclear Legacy.
The National Environment Service hosted two half day workshops on the 7th and 8th August 2024 at the Crown Beach Resort. The purpose of the workshop was to engage stakeholders to review the current CI National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan, provide an overview of the alignment to the Global Diversity Framework goals and targets. The first workshop catered to Non-government Organisations and day two included Government Agencies.
This dataset holds all CIM Plans for each district of Samoa. The CIM Plans are envisaged as blueprints for climate change interventions across all development sectors reflecting the programmatic approach to climate resilience adaptation taken by the Government of Samoa.
The proposed interventions outlined in the CIM Plans are also linked to the Strategy for the Development of Samoa 2016/17 – 2019/20 and the relevant ministry sector plans.
This was as part of the BRCC, Building Resilience to Climate Change in PNG, ADB funded program onFood Security. This work took us to the rarely visited preselected islands of the Luzancays; Kawaand Konia, the villages of Keileuna Island and Lalela village of Kitava Island. As getting to these places isa full days dinghy travel from Alotau on an open 23’ fibreglass banana boat with a 40HP engine hangingoff the back, the calmer the weather the better.
