The Solomon Islands National Waste Management and Pollution Control Strategy 2017-2026 is the country's roadmap for managing waste and controlling pollution in the natural environment for the next 10 years with the vision for clean, healthy and green happy isles. The strategy addresses 5 main waste streams: Solid Waste, Liquid Waste, Hazardous and Chemical Waste, Healthcare Waste and Electronic Waste.
This policy applies to SPREP’s own data as well as data held by SPREP on behalf of government agencies and partners within the Pacific.
This dataset contains the FSM ‘Nationwide Climate Change Policy 2009’, which was endorsed on December 1st, 2009, and the FSM ‘Nation Wide Integrated Disaster Risk Management and Climate Change Policy 2013’, which was endorsed on June 2013. The Integrated 2013 Policy supersedes the 2009 Climate Change Policy.
The focus of this policy is to mitigate climate change especially at the international level, and adaptation at the national, state and community levels to reduce the FSM's vulnerability to climate change adverse effects. In this context, reaffirms its social and cultural identity and its people's rights and desire to continue to live sustainably on their islands.
The Vanuatu National Environment Policy and Implementation Plan 2016–2030 (NEPIP) is an overarching policy for the sustainable conservation, development and management of the environment of Vanuatu. It is the first of its kind since Vanuatu gained independence in 1980.
Management of disasters and emergencies in Papua New Guinea had been undertaken in accordance with the Disaster Management Act (Chapter 402). Whilst this legislation is purposeful the functions and responsibilities entailed in the Act have not been effectively and efficiently deployed. It is for this reason and consistent with the Act and the direction of the National Executive Council a National Environment and Disaster Mitigation Authority is being established .

Climate Change Policies of Tonga
This discussion paper makes a case for the glass half full view of Copenhagen. To sustain this optimism, this paper seeks to move the focus from the outcomes of one (unprecedented) international meeting and draw conclusions from the more important trends in climate policy globally. Given the apparent disconnect between these positive trends and the slow progress within the negotiations, this paper calls for a 'new multilateralism' aimed at unlocking ambitious global action on climate change.
