A SOPAC project funded by the European Union and the Australian Government with the assistance of the Tuvalu Government ,involved a De 719e Raytheon precision echo sounder used to profile the seabed. Bathymetry data created from this was used as post-dredging data which was analyzed against 2 pre-dredging bathymetry data sets surveyed previously to assess changes in the lagoon sea floor.
Coastal geological and geomorphological mapping was done around Savai'i Island, Samoa. Four map sheets representing the 4 directional quarters of Savai'i island was produced and is available for download from its individual metadata entry with appropriate permission. This entry holds the project final report and collections of microphotographs and underwater pictures.
Aerial photographs taken in 1999 were mainly used for overall mapping. Satellite (Ikonos) images,
1:100,000-scale geology map and 1:50,000-scale topography maps were also used as supplementary data. In
SOPAC conducted a 478 kilometers of high resolution multibeam bathymetry survey in Majuro , Marshall Islands. Areas covered included the eastern part portion of the lagoon from the airport to Uliga in the east , the inner margin of the lagoon and the northern margin from Calalin channel to Rita. A single reconnaissance multibeam line was also completed along the lagoon reef slope of the western margin of the atoll. Seismic information and data on the physical properties of the water were collected concurrently.

A 1996 SOPAC geological map of Vaitupu In Tuvalu. Drawn by Philip Woodward. This map shows areas of the Erosional coasts, Pro-grading coasts and stable beach areas of the island. It provides information on spur and groove areas, pavement, sand and rubble areas, mud flat, location of reef edges, sand beach and gravel areas. Map was compiled and published by the SPC, Applied Geoscience and Technology Division (SOPAC).

This record holds the multibeam bathymetry chart of Nan Mandol & Matalanim Harbour in the State of Pohnpei . Work was carried out over a 14-day period in June/July 2006 and involved multibeam bathymetric mapping, single-channel seismic profiling, current metering and CTD (conductivity temperature depth) profiling.

This record holds the habitat map of the Yasawa group in the Western side of the Fiji Islands. This map was produced as part of the SOPAC survey in the Yasawa Islands ,Fiji , using single beam and multibeam bathymetry surveys to delineate the seabed morphology of Yasawa Islands of Waya and Naviti, and the mapping of an area for a potential new deepwater passage leading into Lautoka. The Bathymetry map in PDF format is available from the distribution section of this record for download with permission from the secretariat.
