Global EEZ layer are the layers gathered from gazetted datasets that the Pacific Community (SPC) has received from the project countries. In areas where there are no gazetted datasets provisional layers are being sourced from the Global Marine Regions database (https://www.marineregions.org/).
There are two layers available, he .shp file layer and the .kml layer which are being used by partners and member states in particular FFA for the Regional Fisheries Surveillance Center (RFSC).
3rd Draft
The 2020 State of Environment Report is the first for Papua New Guinea.
Soil Survey and analysis by Hawaii State Office, Soil Conservation Service, US Department of Agriculture, Honolulu, Hawaii. The field survey was completed in November 1981.
This report presents findings from the analysis of radiocarbon dates and volcanic stratigraphy in the Leone Volcanics region of Tutuila Island, American Samoa, shedding light on the timing and spatial distribution of late-Holocene volcanic events. Key insights include identifying a distinct reddish ash stratum dating to approximately AD 650-750 as the most recent eruptive event, along with observations on the source and sequence of ash deposits, suggesting multiple eruptive events from both seaward and inland craters, potentially continuing as recently as AD 1300.
This paper presents over 100 radiocarbon dating results for Tutuila and Manu'a in American Samoa, contributing to various aspects of Samoan archaeology.
This chapter discusses advances in climate change impact, adaptation, and vulnerability assessment methods, emphasizing the growing use of risk management frameworks, stakeholder involvement, and diverse scenario approaches. These developments aim to provide policy-relevant information for effective decision-making in the face of climate change, recognizing the importance of considering non-climate factors and regional-scale scenarios.
State of Environment Reports
Since the adoption of Agenda 21 following the United Nations Conference on Environment and development in 1992, this report constitutes the first opportunity for Samoa to assess its situation with regard to sustainable development in the past decade
An assessment framework based on key habitats in Samoa:
* cloud forest and uplands
* lowlands, coastal strand
* nearshore marine, offshore marine, and rivers and streams
* climate change, air quality, waste disposal, renewable energy, and population pressures.
It also assesses the status of Samoa’s species of high conservation value, especially those that are endemic and critically endangered.
Environment related legislation review of Samoa.

Map of the Nauru island landcover, with country-level summary of the different landcover classes and designation.
Tropical forestry and logging are complex subjects, encompassing a range of diffi cult issues, including land ownership, the sustainability of natural resources, the impact on climate change, the social and economic impact of logging on isolated and relatively untouched, subsistence sector communities, and the protection of the basic rights of the people concerned.
Papua New Guinea’s (PNG) forests and forestry have played an important role in the livelihoods of the people of the country for many years. Forests have provided a source for food, fruits and nuts, building materials, medicinal plants, habitats for refuge and a wealth of other services.
A summary of various datasets on logging concessions, exports, forest cover are presented here.
