The overall scope of this report is to describe the major habitats and marine life in the project area, with the aim of providing relevant information for future development projects. Past development activities in the project area include dredging operations in the nearshore reef area and the installation of a wastewater discharge pipeline in Gataivai. This contains 10 field reports of 10 ocean planning teams in 201, that conducted Solomon Islands first round of consultations to the nine Provinces and Honiara, towards the development of a National Marine Spatial Plan by 2020. This report outlines a baseline assessment of the water quality, sediment quality and aquatic ecology of the Metapona River system downstream of Gold Ridge Mine, Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. The assessment was conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Environment, Conservation, Climate Change, Disaster Management and Meteorology in the Solomon Islands Government.
