It is an 80 page final report detailing PNG's State on Environment, Environmental Policy, Legislative and Institutional Framework including EU and other Donor Cooperation agreements with PNG.

Discusses in detail the A SEAFRAME gauge, the sea level trend, the Variations in monthly mean sea level dominated by seasonal cycles and variations in monthly mean air and water temperatures are likewise affected by the 1997/1998 El Niño. It further discusses Manus Island and the tsunami that followed a magnitude Mw7.1 earthquake and underwater landslide on 17 July 1998 which caused numerous deaths and widespread devastation near Aitape on the northern mainland.

Its an 8 paged report on PNG's background, meterological network, PNG National Weather Service and Climate-related physical and social impacts of the 1997/98 El Nino episode.

This report describes PNG's current situation and constraints with respect to the occurrence, uses and management of water resources in PNG. These notes describe the derivation of environmental domains, forest type/ domain combinations and species bioclimatic profile group distributions and their preparation for use as biodiversity surrogates for the TARGET program priority area analysis of D.Faith and C.Margules, CSIRO Division of Wildlife and Ecology. The locations to be considered are the Resource Mapping Units (RMU's) from the PNGRIS database. TARGET requires these units be described in terms of their composition of each of the biodiversity surrogate attributes.

By now most of these forest have depleted to make way for development or by the effects global warming or sea level rise etc. An overlay of recent data over this data could show some interesting land use changes. The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Resource Organisation (CSIRO) has developed a Marine and Coastal Values Framework that can be applied to natural resource, ecological and socio-cultural data to comprehensively value ecosystem features and cultural assets.
