The objective of this project is to assess what is available in the Pacific Islands countries (PIC), identify and determine how renewable sources & ultimately technology can be used to offset fuel imports and lastly what mechanisms is appropriately applicable towards having an Energy efficient program towards the fuel design. The Landuse layer of Rarotonga was produced in 2009/2010 under the Sustainable Land Management (SLM) Project. This project was co-implemented by NES and MOIP.
The layer was produced by digitizing from satellite imagery and carrying out random checks on the field.
