This record captures petroleum product imports for Samoa from 2009 - 2013. Raw data is sourced from the Samoa Bureau of Statistics via the Samoa Energy Office. Data was used for the annual energy review carried out by the Ministry of Finance - Energy Division. Energy review reports can also be downloaded from this portal. Data is captured monthly by tariff code, description, country of export, volume quantity and CIF price in Tala. Products captured includes: Motor spirit, Jet fuel, Aviation kerosene, Distillate fuels, Liquified butanes, Lubricating oils and greases.
This record captures power utility information for Samoa during the period 2001 - 2012 for selected categories. Data is produced by Samoa's Electric Power Corporation (EPC). Data is captured for both Upolu and Savaii grids. Dataset attached is comprehensive and covers information on monthly generation (including diesel, solar, coconut oil and hydro production); fuel consumption; average damn level; total rainfall; power interruptions; annual sales and production; monthly sales by island, graphs and generation capacity.
This record captures Kiribati transport data. Data was collected by Mr Herbet Wade, consultant for the SPREP PIGGAREP Project. Data collected in 2012, purpose of the project is to collect transport data of all sectors & determine how renewable sources & ultimately technology can be used to offset fuel imports. May 25, 2019 At the request of the (OECMA) Oneisom Environment Conservation Management Association, EPA Chuuk held a workshop on Solid Waste Management at Truk Stop Hotel today. Mayor of Oneisom Municiapality, Mr Enrino Paul, Director of OECMA, Ms Evelyn Paul along with a number of coordinators from different Municipal groups attended the workshop. Concepts of waste management focusing on 3Rs, Segregation of waste, policies and regulations and Proper Disposal of wastes were some of the topics of today's workshop.

The ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM) Version 3 (ASTGTM) provides a global digital elevation model (DEM) of land areas on Earth at a spatial resolution of 1 arc second (approximately 30 meter horizontal posting at the equator).
The development of the ASTER GDEM data products is a collaborative effort between National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI). The ASTER GDEM data products are created by the Sensor Information Laboratory Corporation (SILC) in Tokyo.

OpenStreetMap (OSM) is a free, editable map & spatial database of the whole world. This dataset is an extract of OpenStreetMap data for 21 Pacific Island Countries, in a GIS-friendly format. The OSM data has been split into separate layers based on themes (buildings, roads, points of interest, etc), and it comes bundled with a QGIS project and styles, to help you get started with using the data in your maps.
Conservation International, GRID-Arendal and Geoscience Australia recently collaborated to produce a map of the global distribution of seafloor geomorphic features. The global seafloor geomorphic features map represents an important contribution towards the understanding of the distribution of blue habitats. Certain geomorphic feature are known to be good surrogates for biodiversity. For example, seamounts support a different suite of species to abyssal plains.
This dataset shows the global distribution of seamounts and knolls identified using global bathymetric data at 30 arc-sec resolution. A total of 33,452 seamounts and 138,412 knolls were identified, representing the largest global set of identified seamounts and knolls to date. Seamount habitat was found to constitute approximately 4.7% of the ocean floor, whilst knolls covered 16.3%.
The research leading to these results received funding from the European Community’s Seventh Framework Programme, and from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

Reefs at Risk Revisited is a high-resolution update of the original global analysis, Reefs at Risk: A Map-Based Indicator of Threats to the World’s Coral Reefs. Reefs at Risk Revisited uses a global map of coral reefs at 500-m resolution, which is 64 times more detailed than the 4-km resolution map used in the 1998 analysis, and benefits from improvements in many global data sets used to evaluate threats to reefs (most threat data are at 1 km resolution, which is 16 times more detailed than those used in the 1998 analysis).
