The Pacific Network for Environmental Assessment (PNEA) Portal is an initiative of the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) to support government officials from Pacific Island countries and territories who work with environmental impact assessment (EIA), strategic environmental assessment (SEA) as well as Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS).
The portal complements SPREP’s current capacity building program for EIA and SEA - including the recently launched Regional EIA Guidelines, the Coastal Tourism EIA guidelines, and SEA guidelines.
The dataset contains a range of different Pacific regional maps developed by the SPREP GIS team and is available for use by members and partners.
A direct internet link to and resources pertaining the Blue Habitat website which has been established as a portal for information on the global distribution of marine ‘blue’ habitats. Knowledge on the distribution of blue habitats is an important input into ocean management, marine spatial planning and biodiversity conservation.
The PNG wind dataset is extracted from the 3TIER Global Wind Dataset, IRENA Global Atlas for Renewable Energy.
3TIER Global Wind Dataset can be downloaded from this link: https://irena.masdar.ac.ae/?map=324
May 25, 2019 At the request of the (OECMA) Oneisom Environment Conservation Management Association, EPA Chuuk held a workshop on Solid Waste Management at Truk Stop Hotel today. Mayor of Oneisom Municiapality, Mr Enrino Paul, Director of OECMA, Ms Evelyn Paul along with a number of coordinators from different Municipal groups attended the workshop. The combined Pacific EEZ layer are the layers gathered from gazetted datasets that the Pacific Community (SPC) has received from the project countries. In areas where there are no gazetted datasets provisional layers are being sourced from the Global Marine Regions database (https://www.marineregions.org/).
There are two layers available, he .shp file layer and the .kml layer which are being used by partners and member states in particular FFA for the Regional Fisheries Surveillance Center (RFSC).

Dataset regarding 'Seamounts' - peaks that rise over 1,000 m above the seafloor. Seamount chains occur in all three major ocean basins, with the Pacific having the most number and most extensive seamount chains.
End of Internship presentation on Pacific Climate Finance. Section are: climate finance challenges, overview of climate finance in the Pacific, and next steps.
This presentation has been edited to suit Senior Secondary students to help them know what the National Ozone Unit is doing under the Department of Environment in regards to carrier path ways.

This dataset has all the presentations of the FOSS4G conference Oceania 2020. It was a one-day conference held at SPREP on Friday 20th November, aiming to raise awareness on the importance and power of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), open data, open source software, spatial data sharing, and data standards.
Maps on Species Richness developed by MACBIO as resource for the bioregions workshop (Feb 2018). The tool AquaMaps was used to show predictions of relative probabilities of species occurences in a global grid of half-degree latitude and longitude cell dimensions.
Map developed by MACBIO for the bioregions workshop (Feb 2018). The Global Human Impact of Marine Ecosystems Project distributed national total catch values form FAO data into 1 km^2 cells using a spatial model to show intensity of artisanal fishing.
Map developed by MACBIO for the bioregions workshop 2018. Chlorophyl-a concentration is an important proxy which is routinely measured and is considered a "core" parameter of global physical-biological oceanic models.
The map shows the global distribution of habitat suitability for cold water corals found deeper than 50m. The map was compiled by MACBIO for the bioregions workshop 2018.
