This report provides a technical description of the Tongan marine survey. Where multibeam data was collected for the two islands of Tongatapu and Niuafoou, this data set includes the Basin A area north of Nukualofa and a single beam survey of Tongatapu's Fangauta lagoon, as this was identified as major interest areas during a stakeholder consultation exercise conducted in late 2002 (SOPAC, 2002).SOPAC has implemented a project Reducing Vulnerability of Pacific ACP states with funding secured from the European Union (EDF8).

This record holds the bathymetry chart of West Upolu, Samoa. The chart is the result of the multibeam bathymetry survey that was undertaken by the Applied Geoscience and Technology Division (SOPAC) of SPC around the South Eastern point of Upolu and Savai for the EU-SOPAC Samoa Survey. High-resolution bathymetric mapping survey was carried out ,resulting in the acquisition of over 2754 line-km of MBES data for the whole of Samoa Survey.

High-resolution bathymetric mapping survey, was conducted for the seabed in between South Kolombangara, North Arundel Island and North West New Georgia. The survey was carried out from the 12 to the 15 July 2005 using Reason 8160 MBES equipment and from the 09th July to 11 July 2005, 13-14 July 2005 and from the 18-19 July 2005 using Reason 8101 MBES ,resulting in the acquisition of part of over 1 535 km of multibeam echosounder (MBES) data collected for the Solomon Islands.

This record holds the bathymetry chart of the offshore areas of Niulakita in Tuvalu. Chart is the result of multibeam survey conducted by SPC-SOPAC in 2004. Niulakita is the southern-most as well as the smallest and most isolated island, located in the southern part of the EEZ of Tuvalu. The surveyed area extends to a maximum of approximately 10.5 km offshore from the coastline at the southwest margin. Niulakita is the southern-most as well as the smallest and most isolated island, located in the southern part of the EEZ of Tuvalu. The surveyed area extends to a maximum of approximately 10.5 km offshore from the coastline at the southwest margin. It comprises numerous islets around a central lagoon that is approximately 25.1 km (N-S) by 18.4 km (W-E), centered on 179 degrees 7'E and 8 degrees 30'S. The resultant data from the SOPAC marine survey carried out for Tuvalu in 2004 was used to produce nine bathymetry charts ,at scales ranging from 1:20 000 to 1:50 000 and the Funafuti Chart is available here for download under the section Distribution Info.

The survey was carried out over a period of six weeks in June and July 2005, resulting in the acquisition of over 1 535 km of multibeam echosounder (MBES) data. The resultant data was used to produce bathymetry charts of Ghizo at 1:25 000.
