With this three-year project from 2004 to 2007, The University of Queensland (UQ) team set out to provide a scientific basis to support community initiatives for the sustainable management of marine resources in Marovo Lagoon, Solomon Islands. We largely achieved this goal and provided the maximum benefit possible for local communities—albeit a work in progress. We learnt a lot, and this report captures important ideas and conclusions we trust will be useful for those who follow in our footsteps.

The WDPA User Manual provides information and guidance about the data held within the WDPA, including its history, how it is collected, managed and distributed, and how it should be interpreted and used for analyses and research. The Manual has been prepared for WDPA data providers and users. It is structured in 4 sections and includes 6 appendices.

The ASTER Global Digital Elevation Model (GDEM) Version 3 (ASTGTM) provides a global digital elevation model (DEM) of land areas on Earth at a spatial resolution of 1 arc second (approximately 30 meter horizontal posting at the equator).

This resource contains 30-meter resolution satellite imagery for Papua New Guinea. The imagery was collected during the years 2018-2020 from the Landsat-8 satellite. Images were selected for their visibility, however there is cloud cover present in the final images due to the size of Papua New Guinea and availability of datasets. This imagery should be used for guidance only and cited as "Landsat-8 image courtesy of the U.S. Geological Survey" if used in any presentations or other work.
