Marshall Islands & FSM, 1997, Deepsea Mineral Resources Survey (MBES) Bathymetry Dataset

This record holds a bathymetry dataset from a survey conducted within the sea areas of the Republic of the Marshall Islands and Federated States of Micronesia, for the Fiscal Year 1998. Bathymetry dataset was produced by the Joint Japan International Cooperatiopn Agency and SOPAC Deepsea Mineral Survey. Survey was conducted from May 5th to July 17, 1998 within the Marshalls sea area and May 3 to July 18, l998 within the FSMs sea area . This included Position locating using GPS, acoustic surveys seafloor (topographic survey carried out by MBES) , sea floor observation and photography, core sampling and CTD measurements.
