Phoenix Islands Protected Area - PIPA (Kiribati)

The Phoenix Islands Protected Area (PIPA) is located in the Republic of Kiribati. It was established in January 2008 and is one of the largest oceanic coral archipelagic conservation in the world. The PIPA made it into the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage List.
