Technical document
The Population Census is a count of the country's population which is combined with collecting other information about the people. It is deigned to tell us how many of people are there, where they live, how they earn their living and whether the population is changing in numbers and if so, in what ways and how fast. All this information is captured on the census night.
The 1986 Fiji Population Census covered the following topics:
- Personal particulars of household members
- Education status
- Economic activities
- Information about all women born in 1971 or before
- Information about housing unit
