The 2012 Population and Housing census of Tuvalu is the third census conducted by the Central Statistics Division since Tuvalu gained political independence in 1978.

The 2006 Household Income and Expenditure Survey (2006 HIES) was initiated by Vanuatu National Statistical Office (VNSO) to review its income and expenditure patterns for the national accounts system, to update the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and subsequently revise its Gross Domestic Products (GDP).
Although the 2006 HIES is primarily designed to satisfy the data requirements of the Vanuatu NSO, it is also expected to provide benchmark data for the Millennium Challenge Accounts' (MCA's) infrastructure projects for its impact assessment on the rural economy.
The Agriculture Census 2007 was the third undertaken in Vanuatu for the purpose of compiling information on agriculture, forestry and fisheries resources. Data collected will be used to formulate plans, policies and programs for the development and improvement of these sectors.
The Vanuatu Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) conducted in 2007 was undertaken by the Ministry of Health, Government of the Republic of Vanuatu (GoV) with financial and technical support from United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) - Pacific.
This research is an Indicator Survey conducted in Vanuatu from June 2 to Oct. 5, 2009, as part of the Enterprise Survey initiative. An Indicator Survey, which is similar to an Enterprise Survey, is implemented for smaller economies where the sampling strategies inherent in an Enterprise Survey are often not applicable due to the limited universe of firms.

The overall goal of the Hybrid Survey (HS) project is to provide Vanuatu statistical systems with an affordable means and methodology to regularly collect statistics across key social and economic sectors, to derive indicators that would provide Vanuatu Government and their development partners with a core set of statistics to facilitate evidence-based policy development and planning, to monitor development progress and measure policy performance, and ultimately to describe development impact.

The primary objective of the Census is to determine the official count of the number of persons and households in Kiribati in 2020 and can be used to compare their socio-economic characteristics with those 5 years ago collected in the 2015 Population Census. The 2002 Marshall Islands (RMI) Household Income and Expenditure Survey was the first complete HIES to be conducted in the RMI. The primary purpose of the survey was to gather more accurate and detailed information on income and expenditure levels and flows in the RMI and to update and revise the RMI Consumer Price Index (a separate series of publications document the CPI revision efforts).
Census of population and housing refers to the entire process of collecting, compiling, evaluating, analyzing, and publishing data about the population and the living quarters in a country. It entails the listing and recording of the characteristics of each individual person and each living quarter as of a specified time and within a specified territory. It is the source of information on the size and distribution of the population as well as its demographic, social, economic, and cultural characteristics.
The creation of the independent and sovereign nation of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) under the Compact of Free Association with the United States caused a growing need for social and economic development planning. Consequently, as in many developing countries, administrators and planners in the FSM, in their quest for social and economic development often contend with incomplete or unavailable information when it is needed.
The purpose of the HIES survey is to obtain information on the income, consumption pattern, incidence of poverty, and saving propensities for different groups of people in FSM. This information will be used to guide policy makers in framing socio-economic developmental policies and in initiating financial measures for improving economic conditions of the people. The 2005 FSM HIES asked income of all persons 15 years and over. It referred to income received during the calendar year 2004, and includes both cash and in-kind income.
