The Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission, SOPAC, carried out a marine survey for south coast of Viti Levu, Fiji, from Nasalei (Suva) to Momi (Nadi) from 03/05/03 to 01/07/03. The object was to investigate the seabed and provide information about water depths around the islands using a Multibeam echosounder (MBES).

This record holds the bathymetry chart of the Southern foreshore areas of Savaii, Samoa. The chart is the result of the multibeam bathymetry survey that was undertaken by the Applied Geoscience and Technology Division (SOPAC) of SPC around the islands of Upolu and Savai for the EU-SOPAC Samoa Survey. High-resolution bathymetric mapping survey was carried out ,resulting in the acquisition of over 2754 line-km of MBES data for the whole of Samoa Survey.

This record holds the bathymetry chart of West Upolu, Samoa. The chart is the result of the multibeam bathymetry survey that was undertaken by the Applied Geoscience and Technology Division (SOPAC) of SPC around the South Eastern point of Upolu and Savai for the EU-SOPAC Samoa Survey. High-resolution bathymetric mapping survey was carried out ,resulting in the acquisition of over 2754 line-km of MBES data for the whole of Samoa Survey.

A high resolution bathymetry mapping survey of the seabed surrounding of the Aitutaki Island in the Cook Islands was conducted 2008 by Geoscience Division of SPC under the (EU)European Union's Project EU-EDF 9 on Reducing Vulnerability of Pacific ACP States Project.

Nukulaelae atoll is located at 179 degrees 50'E and 9 degrees 23'S, with dimensions of 10.8 km along the NW-SE axis and 4.7 km along the narrow SW-NE axis. The atoll is characterised by a large central lagoon with some 20 vegetated islands predominantly on the eastern side of the atoll.
The resultant data from the SOPAC marine survey carried out for Tuvalu in 2004 was used to produce nine bathymetry charts, at scales ranging from 1:20 000 to 1:50 000 and the Nukulaelae Chart is available here for download under Distribution Info.
