The census date was midnight, the 30th of November 2016. It is the official count of population, dwellings and households in Tonga and it provides a ‘snapshot’ of the country at one specific point in time: 30th of November 2016. Since 1956 until 2006, Census has been taken once in every ten years.
The 2012 Population and Housing census of Tuvalu is the second census conducted by the Central Statistics Division since Tuvalu gained political independence in 1978. This census provides the population and housing information on areas covering general health, education, labour force, employment, disability, children, youth, aging-population, gender, communication, technology, urbanization, home appliances and many others.

The Census is the official count of population, household and dwellings in Wallis & Futuna and it gives a general overview of the country at one specific point in time: 23rd of July 2018. Since 1969 until 2003, Census has been taken once in every 7 or 6 years and every 5 years from 2003.
The survey provides statistically sound and internationally comparable data essential for developing evidence-based policies and programmes, and for monitoring progress toward national goals and global commitments.
The Kiribati Social Development Indicator Survey (SDIS) results are critically important for the purposes of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) monitoring, as the survey produces information on 32 global SDG indicators adopted by the National Development Indicators framework, either in their entirety or partially.
The primary objective of the Census is to determine the official count of the number of persons and households in Kiribati in 2020 and can be used to compare their socio-economic characteristics with those 5 years ago collected in the 2015 Population Census. Results of the census are most useful for government of Kiribati for planning and policy formulation and thus have a direct impact on the Kiribati population.
The creation of the independent and sovereign nation of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) under the Compact of Free Association with the United States caused a growing need for social and economic development planning. Consequently, as in many developing countries, administrators and planners in the FSM, in their quest for social and economic development often contend with incomplete or unavailable information when it is needed.
The Nauru-STEPS was a nation-wide representative survey of 15 to 64 year olds with the following objectives:
1. To document the national prevalence and patterns of tobacco use, alcohol consumption, dietary behaviours, physical activity, body mass index, elevated blood pressure, and biochemical markers such as blood glucose and blood lipids in Nauru.
2. To provide reliable and up-to-date information on NCD risk factors for planning and evaluating public health initiatives, and for identifying future demands for health services in managing and treating NCDs.

In addition to this, HIES collects information on sectoral and thematic areas, such as education, health, labour force, primary activities, transport, information and communication, transfers and remittances, food expenditure (as a proxy for HH food consumption and nutrition analysis), and gender.
The Tonga Multiple Indicator Cluster Survey (MICS) was conducted in 2019 by the Tonga Statistics Department in collaboration with Ministry of Health with technical support of Ministry of Internal Affairs – Women’s Affairs and Gender Equality Division (WAGED) and other key Government Ministries UNICEF, UNFPA, the Pacific Community (SPC) and other partners. The survey provides statistically sound and internationally comparable data essential for developing evidence-based policies and programs, and for monitoring progress toward national goals and global commitments.
The 2010 Household Income and Expenditure Survey (HIES) is the second survey of income and expenditure in Vanuatu to provide reliable sub-national estimates, with the 2006 HIES being the first time this was attempted. The first HIES was conducted in 1985 in the two urban centres of Luganville and Port Vila. Another was conducted in 1998 but unfortunately, for a number of reasons to do with errors of estimation and observation, the 1998 HIES did not provide reliable and accurate estimates. With the lessons learnt from past experience, the main objectives for the 2010 survey were to:

Durant la période septembre 1982 à mai 1983, la DTSEE de Nouvelle-Calédonie a réalisé une enquête socio-économique6 visant à mieux appréhender les conditions de vie des ménages et déterminer la structure de leurs dépenses afin d’établir un indice des prix de détail à la consommation. Un échantillon de 377 ménages sur l’ensemble du Territoire a été enquêté, soit un taux de sondage de 20% (1 ménage sur 5).
L’enquête menée à Wallis et Futuna par le service territorial de la statistique et des études économiques (STSEE) en 2017 a pour objectif d’apporter un éclairage sur l’accès, l’équipement et l’utilisation des nouvelles technologies de l’information et de la communication (NTIC) au niveau de la population, des ménages et des entreprises.

Il est organisé et contrôlé par l’Insee ; sa préparation et sa réalisation sont effectuées en partenariat avec le Service Territorial de la Statistique et des Études Économiques (STSEE).
The Population and Housing Census 2021 was the 9th census carried out in Tonga since 1956, and the 7th census conducted by the Statistics Department. The Population and Housing Census is a vast and complex undertaking. It is certainly the largest statistical exercise we can contemplate, touching, as it does, every individual and household in the Kingdom. The result of the census has an important role in producing official statistics for Tonga and providing fundamental information for measuring SDG indicators.
The 2000 Kiribati Population and Housing Census is the 4th Cencus in the series that is successfully administered by the Kiribati Statistics Office staff.

The National Statistics Office (NSO) strives and continues to support government by providing socio-economic statistics for monitoring and evaluation purposes through population censuses. These socio-economic statistics are also made available to other users such as the businesses, the churches, regional and international organizations. One of the main sources of demographic and social-economic statistics in Kiribati is the population and housing census. Kiribati has been carrying out population and housing censuses in a "modern sense" at intervals of about five years since 1985.
